The American software giant offered the new Edge earlier this year. But not as an update, anyone could download it through the Microsoft App Store. In the case of this installation, users did not report any problems at all.
These did not start to appear until June, when Microsoft began distributing its new Internet browser as an update under the Windows 10 operating system.
According to user feedback on discussion forums, computers start up to three times slower after installing Edge. Reports reportedly behave slowly during further work within the operating system. Game machines then even achieve lower frame rates in games. Problems with external drives have also been reported.
However, it is important to note that similar ailments do not occur on all computers, but only on some configurations. Therefore, the machine differs from machine to machine according to the hardware and installed programs.
In addition to the appearance itself, Edge also received a new logo.

According to the responses, the update conflicts with some applications – for example with BitLocker. Many users said it was enough to turn it off, and there were problems. Further experience is that the solution is to restore a previous system backup.
The US software giant can be expected to resolve the reported issues with one of the next updates.
The new version of Edge is built on Chromium, the same foundation as Google’s Chrome. By the way, other browsers, such as Opera, also use this building block. Through Windows Update, Microsoft began distributing the browser primarily to expand its user base as much as possible.
