According to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi), Imoam forecasts an annual variation in the manufacturing sector of 1.4 percent in February 2024 compared to the same month in 2023, a more accelerated variation compared to the increase of 0.5 percent. percent that was estimated for January.
It should be remembered that after two consecutive monthly falls, Mexico’s industrial activity reached real growth of 0.4 percent in January compared to December, supported by the 2.2 percent advance in construction, Inegi reported in March.
The Monthly Indicator of Industrial Activity (Imai), which allows us to know and monitor the evolution of industrial activity in Mexico in the short term, stood at 104.3 points, which represented a slight acceleration in its annual measurement, since It advanced 1.9 percent in January, compared to December’s annual rate of 1.2 percent.
For February 2024 and with series without seasonal adjustment, the Timely Monthly Indicator of Manufacturing Activity had a value of 103.4 points as an advance estimate of the Monthly Indicator of Industrial Activity (IMAI) of the manufacturing sector.
This level corresponds to an estimated annual variation of 1.4 percent, with a 95 percent confidence interval with a lower limit of a contraction in productive activity of 1.6 percent at the lower limit and a growth of 4.5 percent in a superior.
The Imoam is an advance estimate of the Monthly Industrial Activity Indicator (IMAI) of the manufacturing sector.
