Claudio Gubitosi, founder of Giffoni, took part in the final moment of the project, led by Orazio Cerino of the Giffoni team. “I am happy to be here with you – said Claudio Gubitosi speaking in the room – for the closing of this event that you loved so much. It is an opportunity to remind myself how important Pasolini was for me, for my education and, therefore, also for Giffoni, an idea in which I have been involved for 54 years. Imagine what this reality could have been like at the beginning of the 70s. It was the era of dreams. Today everything is different because, thanks to new technologies, it is possible to enter ever-changing worlds. It wasn’t like that then. Cinema truly represented the only tool for observing the world beyond the mountains that surround us. In those years I worked to ensure that more and more films could arrive in Giffoni. It wasn’t easy at all. Then I discovered the existence of film libraries and I myself moved from photography to cinematography. I made two films and even today, seeing them again, I understand how strong Paolini’s influence was then for those early works of mine. This is why I say how great the impact of this figure was on my existence. And this is why I am really proud that my team has carried out this project with the support of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. I also want to thank the schools and in particular the teachers who participated in the many days and the many activities. They did it with a great charge of energy, which I still perceive today, in this beautiful room.”
This was followed by a greeting from Pietro Rinaldi, president of the Giffoni Experience Autonomous Body: “It’s really nice – he said, addressing the kids in the room – to see so much enthusiasm and participation in these activities in your eyes. Contributing to your growth through culture is what Giffoni has been doing for over half a century.”

Among the things created is an exciting docu-film inspired by Pasolini’s work “Comizi d’amore” which borrowed the name, but also the approach, the method, the spirit from Pasolini’s work, transferring it to the present day. Directed by Rosario Minervini and Giuseppe Novellino and with the contribution of the entire Giffoni production team, “Comizi d’amore” is an overview of faces and words that gives the point of view of today’s young people on issues that remain controversial and debated, then as now: sexuality, sexual orientation, gender, love, feelings, friendship. On the faces of the children interviewed, the emotions of the first times, the discoveries of themselves and others, the contradictions of being young in a very fast and often superficial age, the dismay of growing up and therefore having to relate to the things of life in an adult way . All this transpired on the big screen for the preview screening of the docufilm created on the occasion of the Giffoni project dedicated to Pasolini.
