These industries maximize the added value and economic return of Egyptian natural gas.

He added that natural gas represents one of the most important pillars of the Egyptian economy to achieve the goals and rates of economic growth and improve the trade balance and create new job opportunities and raise the standard of living, stressing the continuation of increasing natural gas production rates as a result of accelerating the development plans of discovered gas fields, many of which were put on the production map To meet the needs of the local market and fulfill the contractual obligations, pointing to the most important projects recently, especially the project of developing the giant back field after entering the second stage of production, and the project to complete the ninth stage – West of the Delta and the fields of Rivin in the Mediterranean, pointing out that the stability stage in which the Egyptian state supported The Ministry’s efforts strongly in developing and implementing a clear strategy and vision to attract and pump more investments in developing discoveries, implementing new projects and achieving a balance between increased production and demand in addition to offering international auctions that resulted in new discoveries, which led to reducing financial burdens and providing hard currency to other development sectors He pointed out that the successes of gas discovery and production in the Mediterranean stimulated the International companies to quickly search in the concession areas adjacent to the discoveries.

A report received by Eng. Tarek El Mulla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources from Eng. In the field of production, he explained that the average rates of production currently available from natural gas are about 7.2 billion cubic feet per day, noting that 6 projects were implemented in the fields of southwestern Baltim, Qasr, South Desouk, Ibn Yunis, east of South Abu al-Naja and Faraskur, and the completion of 4 other projects is the second stage of The Camus field and the Desouk field stage B and the second stage of the back of the giant field and the ninth stage B in the Burullus region, west of the delta, with a total of 28 wells on production, in addition to placing 13 developmental wells on production.

The report indicated that it continues to provide all the needs of the sectors consuming natural gas in the local market, foremost of which is the electricity sector, whose consumption represents about 60.3% of the total consumption of natural gas, while the rest of the sectors consuming gas, such as industry, homes, auto supply, petroleum and its derivatives, represent about 39.7%.

He also pointed to the success in delivering natural gas to 936 thousand housing units at the level of the republic during that period, despite the current challenges that the country is experiencing as a result of facing the spread of the Corona virus, as the gas was connected to 48 industrial establishments and 163 commercial facilities in addition to converting 39 thousand cars To use gas as fuel and to build 9 gas stations .
