It is a feat that many Lyon skateboarders and freerunners dream of accomplishing. Australian Dominic Di Tommaso has managed to jump over “Lyon 25”, a staircase that has become one of the places most frequented by Lyon riders, says Progress.
It is a 25-step staircase located in the Cité Internationale district. The objective is to succeed in starting from the top of the steps and performing jumps by running, on a scooter, mountain biking, skateboarding, before landing without scratching.
Dominic Di Tommaso posted a video of his exploit on his Instagram account. We see him jump head first, performing a gigantic somersault, before landing with a roll. His video is actually not new: it dates from 2018. But the young man simply decided to republish it on his Instagram account.
Many athletes have already tried this feat, recalls Progress. Eight years ago, the Swede, Ali Boulala, tried his luck with his skateboard. The attempt ended in hospital with a broken foot. Others have succeeded him over the years. So far, only the American Aaron Homoki has succeeded.
Last March, the Lyon skateboarder, Aurélien Giraud, was also risky. Result: a week on crutches.
