The corona curves in the major European countries continue their downward trend, according to new figures released by governments in the United Kingdom, Italy and France today.

In the UK, 282 people have died from an infection in the past 24 hours. Since the outbreak, 36,675 registered patients have died of Covid-19 in British hospitals and health care facilities. The downward trend of the past week is encouraging, according to the British authorities. Nevertheless, in a day, almost 3000 confirmed cases of infection were added again. The counter now stands at over 257,000.

Italy

The downward trend is also continuing in Italy. The authorities reported 119 new deaths on Saturday. This brought the total to 32,735. 669 confirmed patients were added in the past 24 hours, slightly more than Friday. Since the outbreak, nearly 330,000 Italians have now had the disease or are still sick.

France

In France, the Directorate-General for Health again reported a drop in the number of corona patients in intensive care. Intensive care is still needed for 1,665 patients, or 36 less than the day before. However, general pressure on the French health system remains high, according to the Directorate-General. All told, 5,600 people are in intensive care.
