Durango was expected to arrive in a whole new generation, but it didn’t happen. Dodge preferred to bet only on the facelift of the popular SUV. However, the new motorization was most interesting. Durango arrived in the SRT version of Hellcat.

Only the strongest and most extreme models in the Dodge have been marked Hellcat for a long time, and the facelifted Durango is no exception. Under the hood, it has a 720hp V8 engine with 875 Nm of torque, making the car the most powerful mass-produced SUV in the world.

As with the similarly powerful Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, however, the Durango SRT Hellcat has only a different engine than the weaker version. Much more has been adjusted.

At first glance, it can be noticed that the Durango SRT Hellcat does not have fog lights, instead of which there are two giant pockets for air intake into a giant supercharged engine. He also underwent several changes. It has a forged steel crankshaft and a number of other engine parts made of more durable materials.

The engine then works with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Of course, there are giant brakes from the Brembo brand and wheels fitted with top Pirelli Scorpion Zero All-season tires.

In terms of interior, the new Durango can be considered a classic American SUV. It has generous leather seats with the SRT logo, the cabin is dominated by a giant touch screen, sports steering wheel and red backlit alarm clocks.

There is also ambient lighting, a number of clever applications or decorative paneling. But the strongest SUV in the world must also be practical. The car has complete LED headlights, a range of safety systems or towing equipment.

In addition to Hellcat, Dodge also introduced other model specifications and engines for Durango. Most of them should arrive on the American market at the beginning of 2021. The price of the new Durango SRT Hellcat in the USA will be above 2 million crowns. The novelty will reach Europe only thanks to the so-called gray importers, official distribution is not planned.
