The Risk Management Group believes that those who have traveled in an area where stricter measures apply, should be viewed in the same way as a high-risk patient. This means that a test is recommended and quarantine is also an option. That was announced by Welfare Minister Wouter Beke (CD&V) on Monday evening.

He even wants to go a step further and make that recommendation mandatory. The Flemish government is now examining with colleagues from Brussels and Wallonia how legislation can be amended to make this recommendation also an obligation. Tomorrow, Tuesday, an Interministerial Conference on Public Health is scheduled to vote the violins, although there is already a consensus on this, it sounds.
Which areas are considered to be risky and who should be tested are decided by the FPS Foreign Affairs. How this is arranged in practice is the subject of Wednesday’s Consultation Committee.
