The organizers of the TEFI Prize decided to postpone the event to 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Previously, it was expected that the event will be the 24th in a row in the current history of the festival, but the difficult epidemiological situation has made adjustments. Thus, the acceptance of applications for receiving awards is also extended – applicants will be able to send documents before February 1, 2021.

Explaining the position of the organizers, the chairman of the Committee for Industrial Television Prizes Mikhail Shvydkoy explained that he did not consider it a sensible idea to arrange a holiday in a situation where everyone around is still equipped with masks and gloves. Earlier talk was about events in October 2020.

For his part, Shvydkoi promised that the topic coronavirus will definitely be affected in the ceremony. How exactly this will be implemented will be clarified a bit later. It is also possible that not only traditional tapes will compete for awards, but also projects presented on the Internet, informs TASS.
