Stricter measures due to coronavirus spread in Karviná and Frýdek-Místek region – ČT24 – Czech Television

Unlike in most of the Czech Republic, where measures will ease from Wednesday, in the Karviná and Frýdek-Místek regions, on the other hand, they have tightened until further notice. People must continue to wear drapes in public transport and indoors, and there will be a maximum of 100 people at public events inside and outside at the same time, or one hundred people in each sector in stadiums. The obligation to observe two-meter spacings also applies.

The measures also apply to natural and artificial swimming pools in these regions. In addition, the measures can be even stricter in the smallest swimming pools, because there can be only one visitor per ten square meters.

Visits ban and restaurant restrictions are returning

In both districts, visits to retirement homes and medical facilities are prohibited. Their new clients must have a negative test. If people who do not live in the same household drive, they are obliged to have veils. It is also true for the whole region that at mass events, where there will be more than a hundred people indoors, people must have their noses and mouths covered.

Restaurants and other food service outlets will need to be closed from 23:00 until 08:00, including outdoor areas. “In the morning, we granted an exception only to medical facilities, social services, the prison and hotel restaurants,” said Pavla Svrčinová, director of the Regional Hygiene Station in Ostrava.

It can be sold through a window, which must be disinfected regularly. In restaurants, a minimum distance of two meters must be maintained between individual tables and places. A maximum of four people can sit at a table, unless they are members of the same household.

However, there are also cities in the region with a minimal incidence of the disease. For example, Bohumín. But even for Tuesday, stricter rules apply.

“Quarantine and re-restriction of some activities and causing further economic losses, I consider this a stupid quarantine,” complained the mayor of Bohumín Petr Vícha (ČSSD).

Children’s camps are not disturbed

“The novelty is that for manufacturing companies that have multi-shift operation, we require the separation of individual shifts as much as possible,” said Svrčinová.

The hygienic station has also set binding rules for children’s camps, the most common in the Frýdek-Místek region. For example, there must be disinfectants and disposable towels in the dining rooms, and children will not be able to cook for themselves. Until further notice, the entire Moravian-Silesian Region will have to have a negative PCR test every ten days until further notice.

Among those tested in ČSM mines, 17 percent are positive

Among the tested employees of the ČSM-Sever and ČSM-Jih mines of OKD in the Karviná region, approximately 17 percent are positive for coronavirus. Not all tests have been evaluated yet.

“It simply came to our notice then. Not all tests have been evaluated yet, so it is possible that there will be more positive ones, “Petr Kopřivík from the Regional Hygiene Station in Ostrava told Czech Television after the first reports spoke of 15 percent. Comprehensive testing at the mines was ordered by a hygienist, as the number of infected people began to increase.

According to Kopřivník, the infection is spread mainly by asymptomatic carriers and also by people who have symptoms but do not follow hygienic rules. It is said that the deteriorating situation in the neighboring Silesian Voivodeship in Poland may also have contributed to the situation.

However, the epidemiologist believes that the new measures are not introduced too late. “Given that the incubation period is fourteen days, the adoption of measures only has an effect over time. We responded by testing and emergency measures of the regional hygiene station. We will continuously evaluate it, if the numbers continue to grow, we can even tighten them. However, we find that people already have enough measures and in many cases do not comply with them, “he warned.

Moravian-Silesian Governor Ivo Vondrák (YES) said on Monday that most of those tested positive in the Moravian-Silesian Region are asymptomatic. 28 people from all over the region are hospitalized.

OKD spokeswoman Naďa Chattová stated that samples were currently also taken from fifty employees of the ČSA Mine. This is a statistical sample. If it turned out that the number of infected people was statistically significant in this sample, a general testing would be done there as well.

Employees of the Darkov Mine have already completed a comprehensive survey of the infection, where the first outbreak of covid-19 appeared at OKD. But the situation has stabilized there. So far, 511 cases have been registered, but no new ones have been added since Friday. A total of about eight thousand people work in the mines. Due to coronavirus, only the Darkov Mine has stopped mining so far.

Veils in the metro remain in Prague

The obligation to wear veils remains in Prague, but only in the metro, people do not have to have them on trams. The Moravian-Silesian Region surpassed Prague in the number of infected. Laboratories have so far detected 2,644 infected, 2506 of them in the capital so far.

Despite the sharp increase, according to the Ministry of Health, the overall epidemiological situation in the Czech Republic is very good and the disease is not spreading uncontrollably, this is not the second wave of the epidemic. From 1 July, mouth and nose protection will be mandatory throughout the country only in medical and social facilities. The restriction that restaurants could only be open until 23:00 should also be lifted.

From 1 July, the Ministry of Health will publish a daily map of risk regions in the Czech Republic, which will assess the increase in positives with covid-19, hospitalizations and other trends for the last day and week. The daily increments of positively tested will be published by the ministry only once a day.
