St. Pölten’s women will also represent Austria in 2020/21

The women from spusu SKN St. Pölten will again be Austria’s representatives in the UEFA Women’s Champions League in the coming season. The Austrian Football Association (ÖFB) announced this on Friday afternoon in a press release.

The Planet Pure Women’s Bundesliga had to be canceled on April 15th due to corona virus without any rating. Therefore, the only ÖFB starting place for the next season of the premier class of European women’s football was vacant.

Sixth European Cup season for St. Pölten

Two weeks ago, Senate 5 of the Bundesliga had granted St. Pölten the license to participate in the UEFA Women’s Champions League 2020/21. “After the presidium decision, the ‘wolf women’ can now finally plan their sixth season on the international stage,” said the ÖFB.

“After a flawless autumn season with 27 points from nine games, the Lower Austrians around the captain and ÖFB team player Jasmin Eder set course for the sixth championship title in a row, which they were denied,” said the press release.

Between 2015/16 and 2019/20, the St. Pölten always failed in the sixteenth final, for which they were each set. Due to their placement in the UEFA five-year ranking, the Lower Austrians must now qualify for the first time in the coming season. The game dates have not yet been fixed.
