Alonso will return to occupy the seats of the French Renault team with which he won his two championships in 2005 and 2006.

The announcement will be made officially this coming Wednesday in the framework of the second race of the season that will take place this Sunday in Austria.

The renowned pilot, who is about to turn 39, remains in constant physical and virtual training through a vehicle and track simulator.

The Asturian left F1 in 2018, but would meet again with the French brand that has given him the most glory, in order to achieve new successes.

In the event that the union with Renault becomes official, Alonso will have Esteban Ocon as a partner, and would occupy the place held by the Australian Daniel Ricciardo in the French team.

Alonso would return to star in his third stage, considering that the first was from 2003 to 2006, in which he achieved his two titles; and the second from 2008 to 2009, in which he spent a year at McLaren and then went to Ferrari.
