Six Positive Covid-19 People, Some Tanah Abang Market Will Be Closed and Line Up With Police

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Six Tanah Abang market traders, Central Jakarta are positively exposed by Covid-19.

Perumda Pasar Jaya Managing Director Arief Nasrudin said six positive people were not only traders.

The positive patients consisted of one employee from Cengkareng, one block trader and one block B, one private Block A employee, and two Block B employees.

“So there are only two traders. Then when these three people are examined in relation to PMKS, which indeed interacts positively, those three are negative,” Arief said at the Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday (6/30/2020).

As a result, Pasar Jaya will start closing the market on Wednesday (1/7/2020) tomorrow. At present, Pasar Jaya is conducting a socialization regarding the closure.

“It will close starting on July 1. That’s why today we are conducting socialization,” Arief said.

He also explained that only some of the kiosks that were closed were detected as a virus transmission site.

A police line will be installed to prevent anyone approaching the location.

“So, the store, we consider the distance, the closed one police line, “said Arief.

He said he was still searching for any place that had to be closed. As long as the kiosk is closed, the Tanah Abang market will continue to operate as usual.

Previously, five markets in the Tanah Abang area would be temporarily closed for three days starting July 1, 2020 because there were 10 people who tested positive in the five locations.

The five markets in question are the Central Fashion Wholesale Grocers (PGMTA), the Central Metro Market (PMTA), the Central Ground (CTA) Market, as well as the Block A and Block B Red Market.

Tanah Abang Sub-District Chief Yassin Passaribu explained that his party had coordinated with the market management regarding the closure for three days, which will begin on July 1.

“Today I sent them a letter, tomorrow they will basically socialize. July 1, 2020, it will only be closed for three days,” Yassin said when confirmed, Monday (6/29/2020) yesterday.
