Sales of international train tickets are picking up again after dramatic months | NOW

NS International is noticing an improvement in the sales of international train tickets. From an all-time low in April, when only 3 percent of the normal volume was sold, sales have recovered to about 30 percent of normal volume. The NS reports this on Wednesday.

Train tickets to Berlin are particularly popular, with nearly twice as much booked as usual for this time of year. That does not make the German capital the most popular destination, that is Antwerp. Brussels follows in second place, Paris in third place. We finally find Berlin in fourth place with Cologne behind it.

Despite the pick-up in ticket sales, NS International is not yet flying out, as it looked like late last year that 2020 would be a record year. Growth came to a halt due to the corona crisis. For example, the direct connection to London via Eurostar is still awaiting. From July 9, the ride from the British capital will again be a direct one to Amsterdam.

On July 12, the number of trips by Thalys to Paris will increase from two to four times a day. Further expansion of the timetable depends on demand, says the NS.
