JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Chairman of the Task Force Expert Team for the Acceleration of Handling Covid-19 Wiku Adisasmito revealed, there were eight provinces that became the focus of attention because the number of cases was classified as high.
“There are eight provinces of concern because the number of cases is high and the incidence rate is also high,” Wiku said in a live broadcast on the BNPB Youtube account, Tuesday (07/14/2020).
First, said Wiku, is East Java with a total of 16,658 positive Covid-19 cases.

Then, DKI Jakarta recorded 14,517 cases, South Sulawesi with a total of 6,973 cases, Central Java 5,473 cases.
Followed by South Kalimantan (4,146 cases), North Sumatra (2,323 cases), and Papua (2,267 cases).
Wiku said that the total number of Covid-19 cases in the eight provinces contributed 74 percent of the total number of cases in the country.
“The total contribution of these eight provinces is around 74 percent of all cases in Indonesia,” he said.

Therefore, he evaluates the 3T step which consists of testing, tracing, and treatment, needs to be improved.
“With the hope that the contributors to this case will decline for the better and the condition of Indonesia as a whole will get better too,” said Wiku.
