Porsche 911 Carrera will no longer have naturally aspirated engines – Motor

In an interview with Evo magazine, the chief engineer of the Porsche 911 project, Frank-Steffen Wallizer, explained that the company was thinking about returning the aspirated to the 992 series sports cars, but they considered the adaptation of a naturally aspirated engine unprofitable.

The six-cylinder 4.0 engine from the Cayman / Boxster GTS family turned out to be “small blood” impossible to install on the 911 Carrera, in addition to naturally aspirated engines it’s more difficult to adapt to environmental standards.

Thus, the last Porsche 911 with an atmospheric engine without a GT attachment may be the Speedster of the outgoing generation 991. In the Russian Porsche configurator, there is still a special version: the starting price of the model is 21 million 681 thousand rubles.
