People who were involved in disturbances after the demonstration of ‘Virus madness’ on the Malieveld in The Hague on June 21 are given a few more days to report voluntarily to the police. If they do not, the police will make images of them public. The police announced this on Friday.

On Tuesday, July 14, in the detection programs Team West at Omroep West and Opsporing Verzocht images will be shown ‘of rioters whose identities are not yet known’, according to the police. The rioters will have the opportunity to report to a police station before Tuesday 14 July. Those who report themselves will not be on TV. “
Despite the ban on demonstration by the ‘Virus Madness’ group, protesters nevertheless arrived and troublemakers to the Malieveld in The Hague. During the confrontations with the ME, the police put it, ‘considerable violence was used by the troublemakers’.
Hundreds of arrests
They threw smoke bombs and stones and physically attacked the ME. The police detained 425 people, most of them for violation of the Public Manifestation Act (WOM). Eleven of these suspects were arrested for open violence. On Saturday, June 27, another 61-year-old man from The Hague apprehended.
All suspects have returned home, but they remain suspects in this investigation. The investigative team is currently busy viewing footage and trying to find out the identities of the suspects.
Lots of images
“Around the disturbances, many images of rioters have appeared in the media, possibly that they have already recognized themselves. The police give the rioters the opportunity to report to a police station before Tuesday, July 14, otherwise their images will be shown, “said the police on Friday.
