At the end of the afternoon of July 1, 2020, while the Egide USA site in Cambridge, Maryland, USA, was closed due to an extended July 4th national holiday weekend, a fire broke out. declared in the surface treatment area.

He was quickly extinguished and there were no injuries. Priority was immediately given to the inventory of potentially hazardous chemicals associated with the surface treatment lines affected by the fire. A decontamination company has been contacted and is on site. In collaboration with the waste treatment team of Egide USA, and the fire department, an assessment of the plant is underway.

For the moment, although Egide does not know the extent of the damage, it seems that it is limited to the Gold surface treatment line. Under these circumstances, all the US and French teams of the Group are mobilized to satisfy current orders and serve the urgent needs of its customers. In fact, the surface treatment lines at our factories in San Diego, California and Bollène, France are ready to take over in order to ensure delivery of urgent orders. All customers potentially impacted in the short term by this incident will be contacted individually to update on deliveries and the upcoming schedule.
