The thing is of course that the flagships are also getting more expensive. A flagship iPhone or Samsung you pay more than € 1000 for. A “OnePlus flagship killer” costs € 800-900 or so? So yes, they have become many times more expensive, but so are the iPhones and Samsungs.
And when I look at what you get now for a phone for around € 200, those are just good phones (for the undemanding user). While you had a terribly slow smartphone for that amount several years ago. Nowadays, the flagships are just computers in your pocket, with a corresponding price. While probably for 75% of the users a “normal smartphone” with a decent camera and on which you can browse smoothly and WhatsApp / Facebook / … is also enough. And then you have more than enough with a midrange phone of around € 500.
For me, this OnePlus Nord is in any case a good device. Now have a OnePlus 3, whose support has ended and the battery is less. The hardware itself is more than sufficient for me and I miss nothing. But a new “flagship killer” is far too expensive for me. And I still have my doubts about the cheap alternatives (Xiaomi, Realmi, …). (Custom skin, where OnePlus has almost stock, ads everywhere (whether or not to disable))
