The staff of the Nice-Matin press group called on its new shareholder, Xavier Niel, to respect its commitments “on resources” to develop the three editions of the newspaper in a press release. “In project 75 presented by Anthony Maarek and adopted by the commercial court, there was never any question of closing agencies and sacrificing local editions. On the contrary, NJJ promised to put the means to develop at least four additional editions ”indicates the group’s inter-union which also claims that“ restructuring has already taken place ”. The unions also point the finger at “necessary CDDs not renewed” and do not hide their concerns about NJJ, Xavier Niel’s personal holding company, and its administrator Anthony Maarek. In addition, according to the SNJ, around twenty positions vacated by journalists who exercise the cession clause will not be replaced.
