However, the Formula 1 organization is afraid that a second race weekend on the same circuit will provide less tension. The starting position of the sprint race is determined on the basis of the result of the previous race. Should Max Verstappen win the first race of the season, he will have to start last one week later during the sprint race. According to the Italian newspaper, the duration of the race weekend remains the same and action will be taken from Friday to Sunday. Another big change, however, is that each team is assigned the same tires. This way, every rider has a fixed number of sets of soft, medium and hard tires.
It is expected that the F1 organization will announce the new calendar within a few days and will also quickly clarify the introduction of the new rules. In addition to the European season, it is also hoped to drive in China, Japan, Vietnam, Mexico, America, Bahrain and Abu Dhabi in 2020. This would bring the total number of races to 15.
