Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, also known as Prachanda, is gearing up for his upcoming visit to India next month. In an event, he mentioned the need for proper preparation before embarking on the visit. The date for his visit to India is yet to be announced; however, his first or second week of May travel plans to New Delhi are likely to become official soon. This trip holds great significance as this will be Prachanda’s first foreign trip after he became Nepal’s Prime Minister in December last year. The primary focus of his talks with Indian leaders would be on boosting bilateral ties, trade, energy, agriculture, culture, and air service between the two nations. Although Foreign ministry officials have started groundwork for his visit, Prachanda believes in doing his homework well before the visit. In July last year, Prachanda visited India at the invitation of BJP National President J P Nadda and met External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval. Prachanda was sworn in as the Prime Minister for the third time last year after he dramatically walked out of the pre-poll alliance led by the Nepali Congress and joined hands with opposition leader K P Sharma Oli.
