Moscow screwdrivers turned Lada into a Tesla cyber truck> teslamag.de

Last week, pictures of an interesting vehicle on a Moscow street went around the world. Filmed from behind, the continuous red light bar on the smooth rear of the car strongly reminded of the Tesla Cybertruck, the electric pickup from Tesla that was presented in November with its striking sheet steel design, From the side there were also plates like those on the Cybertruck, but much larger wheel openings and below that much smaller wheels than on the Tesla original. As it turned out, there was a Lada Amara underneath – and behind it a team of four Russian mechanics.

Among other things, the screwdriver group commented on the report on a cybertruck sighting in Moscow on the InsideEVs portal. It is called the “cannon workshop” and there also published a link to a video on YouTube, in which the conversion is shown in detail.

The basis for the pseudo-Tesla in Moscow, as the film makes clear, is a dark green VAZ 2108-2115, which was also available in Germany as Lada Samara until 2004. The five Russians only give themselves 24 hours to make a copy of a Cybertruck – but only from the outside, the internal combustion engine remains inside. However, they do not do the work in one piece, but spread over a total of eight days, as the moderator explains.

The Tesla Cybertruck with its extremely simple, angular, flat design has already inspired many to create replicas – from mashed potatoes or cardboard or around a Ford F-150, So far, most of the work seems to have gone into the replica of the Russians. As the video shows, they measure and plan relatively precisely before cutting and welding sheet metal.

Even the body cutouts for the wheels are given a sheet metal rim, which is then painted black so that it reminds of the plastic of Tesla’s real pickup prototype. However, they are very large with the Lada cyber truck. In the video first published by the vehicle, it therefore looked unfavorably as if there was a large gap in the sheet steel dress over the rear wheel.

It is not clear whether the Russian screwdrivers had expected such a great response to their project, but the detailed video published shortly after the sighting suggests that they were not completely surprised. As Sputnik News reports, they are now offering their Tesla project on a Russian car portal for sale. Price: 666,666 rubles or just under 10,000 euros – at a cost of just over $ 1,000 including Lada, as the video says.
