High School Students Aim for UN Success with Fundraisers and Hypnosis
Twenty-nine ambitious students from Jean-Racine High School in Montdidier, France are gearing up for an unforgettable journey to the United Nations in New York City. They’ll spend two weeks, from March 2 to March 18, 2025, participating in a simulated session of the UN, where they will embody diplomats representing various countries.
"It is mainly Australia and a delegation of two students will represent the USSR at the historic 1991 security council," explained the teachers guiding this project: Manon Aury, Virginie Loyez, Stéphanie Prévot and Amandine Caboche. This unique opportunity provides these young minds with a firsthand experience of international diplomacy and global problem-solving.
Their fundraising efforts also extend to local initiatives. Every Wednesday afternoon from 2pm to 5pm, the students sell socks at the entrance of the E. Leclerc store. They’ll also be present at the Montdidier Christmas market this weekend, November 30th and December 1st.
To add even more excitement, the students have organized a hypnosis show featuring Stephan Watbled at the Jean-Dupuy hall on Saturday, November 30th. Doors open at 7pm, and tickets are available for €10. "Places are still on sale for €10. People will also be able to come and take their place at the entrance, although we prefer reservations," said Virginie Loyez.
This event is part of the students’ Political Science workshops, held twice a week on Fridays, which are designed to help them prepare for applications to the prestigious Institute of Political Studies. With just over month and a half left to reach their fundraising goal, the students are pushing hard towards realizing their dream. "There is 1 month and a half left to get the required €4,000, (to finance the trip to New York)," emphasized Virginie Loyez.

## High Schoolers Take on the UN – Wiht a Little Help from Hypnosis
**MONT DIDIER, FRANCE** – Imagine leaving your high school classroom adn stepping into the United Nations General Assembly Hall. That’s the dream for 29 ambitious students from Jean-Racine High School, who are gearing up for a once-in-a-lifetime simulated UN experience in New York City. From march 2nd to 18th, 2025, these young diplomats will represent various nations, culminating in a historical simulation of the 1991 security Council, complete with a delegation representing the USSR.
But transforming this dream into reality requires a hefty €47,000. That’s where the students’ ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit come into play.

**Virginie Loyez:** Absolutely! It offers them a taste of international diplomacy, global problem-solving, and a chance to develop valuable skills they can use throughout their lives.
**World Today News:** Fundraising €47,000 is a big goal. What strategies are the students using?
**Virginie Loyez:** We’ve launched an online crowdfunding campaign,which has been gaining momentum. Locally, they’re selling socks every Wednesday afternoon at the E. Leclerc store entrance. And we’re excited about the upcoming hypnosis show on November 30th at the Jean-Dupuy hall, featuring the talented Stephan Watbled.Tickets are only €10!

**Virginie Loyez:** We want to make fundraising fun and engaging. This event ties into the students’ Political Science workshops, which they attend twice a week. It’s also great readiness for their future applications to the Institute of Political Studies.
