Seeing the calico that has been set up in Madrid on the occasion of the phase change, I realize the level of cynicism that some can reach in order to gain their particular ideological pulse.
And although their opinion is now the least important, because the importance is in the decisions made by those from above, on which the health of millions of Madrid people with whom I shared city and adventures for four years depends, does not stop Surprise me as the same people who yesterday loaded and rightly against Sánchez for having reacted late to the virus, today defend Ayuso in his blind desire to evolve in the de-escalation even with health reports that advise against it.
Do lives no longer matter? They have even wanted to sue the Prime Minister for not having taken sufficient precautions at the time against an unknown enemy, and now that we have much more information about the Covid-19 and what it is capable of, there are those who support that the leader of Madrid act with haste and premeditation. I do not get it.
And it is not that I do not trust the first PP candidate who loses an election in Madrid after 32 years, a woman who after nine months in power has not approved either the budget or any law, of someone who is capable of overcome the state’s embarrassing purchase of defective sanitary material, not only repeating the mistake weeks later, but directly losing two planes loaded with medical equipment. Nor do I doubt the skills of a policy that advocates junk food for underprivileged minors, which is capable of throwing a massive party at Ifema or puts the photos – with those of El Mundo on the verge of tears – before meetings with the regional presidents with whom they intend to reach agreements that unite us in the face of this pandemic.
The point is that Yolanda Fuentes, from Tenerife, until last week, director of Public Health in the capital, inspires me more confidence. She did put the health of the people ahead of her juicy salary by resigning. He refused to leave his rubric and become an accessory to a rash request. A gesture that makes her an example and a source of pride for the Canaries, and yet leaves my friends in Madrid in worse hands. They do not deserve this.
