López Obrador criticizes release of detainee in case of the 43

In congratulating the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR), Alejandro Gertz Manero, for his work in the Ayotzinapa case, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador questioned the decision of a judge to release one of those detained for this crime this morning. .

At a conference in the National Palace, the president regretted the decision for a suspect for the disappearance of the 43 Ayotzinapa normalistas to obtain their freedom at 00:00 hours on Wednesday.

“The missing youth of Ayotzinapa is being clarified and today, in the morning, we are informed that a judge released one of those involved who was detained at 00:00 hours. Of course, he has not come out because there is a deadline of 24 hours, now the FGR must defend the matter. These things cannot be allowed to happen, “he said.

López Obrador asserted that the Ayotzinapa case is a matter of State and should be treated as such, therefore the importance of clarifying the events that occurred in Iguala in 2014, for which he celebrated that Gertz Manero signaled the end of “the historical truth.”

Yesterday the attorney general reported that an Interpol red card had been issued to search for the ex-head of the Criminal Investigation Agency, Tomás Zerón, who fled Mexico after the accusations against him allegedly for torture, forced disappearance, concealment and loss of evidence in the case of the 43 normalistas.

President López Obrador reiterated that there will be no impunity in the case nor will anyone be protected.
