Lidl cancels the offer: discounters are now using the Aldi concept

Lidl’s adventure has ended. Lidl will cease to operate as a tour operator in October. Customers should then only be able to book vacation trips that come from third-party providers. Lidl is thus guided by the concept that Aldi, Norma and Co. already practice.

In September 2017, Lidl dared to plan the trip for the first time. Was not only an agent, but also an organizer.

Customers booked their trip through the subsidiary Lidl Holidays. This included the Berlin travel company JT Touristik, which planned and organized trips. At the end of April, JT Touristik had apparently already terminated agency contracts with travel agencies. At that time it was said that the revision was necessary due to a realignment.

According to CHIP information, Christoph Hahn, head of travel at JT Touristik, had already left the company in the middle of the month.
