40 years ago today, June 27, 1980, appeared King of the World, Sheila’s second album in English, after Singin’in the Rain (1977), a disc which literally propelled “the little Frenchwoman” on the roof of the world and led Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards, respectively guitarist and bassists of the group Chic, to put their paw on some of the greatest monuments of the music, from “Like a Virgin” by Madonna to “Notorious” by Duran Duran, including “Original Sin” by INXS and “Let’s dance” by David Bowie.
