An important fire broke out late Thursday night in a two-story residential and community building on place Saint-Bruno in Grenoble, forcing firefighters to deploy a high-ladder truck to rescue a family trapped on the second floor. The blaze, which triggered a swift emergency response from local police and firefighters, left five people with minor injuries and required the evacuation of approximately ten residents from the structure.
Late-Night Alarm and Police Patrolling
The emergency began at approximately 11:40 p.m. on Thursday. A local resident spotted flames erupting from a window at 53 place Saint-Bruno and raised the alarm. At the exact same moment, a police patrol driving through the sector heard a distinct explosion originating from inside the building. Before fire crews could reach the site, police officers and several neighborhood residents forced entry into the burning structure to alert sleeping or unaware occupants. However, one family remained trapped inside the targeted apartment on the second floor as the fire intensified. Firefighters arriving on the scene quickly deployed a high-ladder vehicle to reach the window of the burning flat, safely bringing the family down from the upper level.
