Government calls for resignation of Colombian Football Federation leaders due to 2020 box office scandal | Colombia selection

This Monday, a strong sanction of about 18 billion pesos was confirmed to the Colombian Football Federation due to a legal scandal of the alleged resale of the box office in matches of the Colombia National Team.

After this, there are several involved and one of them is Ramón Jesurún, president of the FCF. From the Government, they discussed the issue and gave advice to step aside to defend themselves.

“I am not a friend of asking for resignations. It is inside each one. What has happened is serious, they have the right to defend themselves, but the sports leadership must understand that there are times when one must analyze what the future is for the good of sport, “Ernesto Lucena, Minister of Sports, began in ‘BluRadio’.

The Minister himself, on the other hand, made it clear that he does not ask for the explicit resignation of the leaders involved, but that in order to defend themselves they should take a step aside due to the entire legal scandal of the alleged ticket sales.

“I think that I do not know whether to resign, but to defend yourself you have to step aside and, if there is a positive result, then return to office. But that goes inside each person, “Lucena finished.
