From July 1, airBaltic will resume flights from Riga to London – Latvia

After receiving all the necessary permits, the national airline airBaltic plans to resume direct flights from Riga to London on July 1, informed Alise Briede, Head of Corporate Communications at Air Baltic Corporation.

On July 4, airBaltic will resume flights from Tallinn to London. At the same time, on July 1, the airline will open a new route from Vilnius to London.

Martin Gauss, CEO of airBaltic, said that passenger safety and health remained a top priority for the airline. “We have put in place strict security measures and we follow the recommendations of the authorities on our flights. All passengers on airBaltic flights are provided with a free basic care kit, which includes a face mask and disinfectant wipes,” he said.

airBaltic works closely with the authorities to monitor the situation and is flexible to adjust the flight schedule if necessary. Passengers should check travel conditions and airport restrictions on official websites or local embassies before traveling.

AirBaltic currently operates direct flights from Riga to various European business hubs and continues to resume flights to destinations such as Dubrovnik, Rijeka and Split in Croatia, Barcelona in Spain, Nice in France, Larnaca in Cyprus, Rome, Catania and Milan in Italy, among others. In addition, airBaltic offers various direct flights from Tallinn and Vilnius.

It has already been reported that airBaltic resumed scheduled flights on 18 May.

airBaltic’s audited turnover last year was 503.281 million euros, which is 23.1% more than in 2018, but the company suffered a loss of 7.729 million euros compared to the profit a year earlier. The airline forecasts that its turnover this year will be less than 200 million euros.

The Latvian state owns 80.05% of airBaltic’s shares, while the financial investor, Danish businessman Lars Tussen, owns Aircraft Leasing 1 – almost 20% of the shares.
