Hossam El-Badry, coach of the national football team, met with Mohamed Barakat, the national team manager, to discuss the decision of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to postpone the African Nations Cup in Cameroon.
The African Union announced the postponement of the African Nations Championship to be held in 2022 instead of 2021.
The meeting came to develop perceptions of the team’s preparations during the next stage, immediately after the announcement of the AU decisions.
Al-Badri discussed with the team manager all the scenarios presented that preserve the plan for preparing the national team, especially since CAF did not address during the press conference held by its president Ahmed Ahmed to determine the agendas of the international teams during the months of September, October and November, by accommodating them in friendly or official matches to start the actual preparation for this stage.
Captain Hossam Al-Badri confirmed that he will meet again with the Five-Year Committee of the Football Association headed by Amr Al-Janayni to discuss all these decisions and emphasize the necessity of linking the matches of local competitions to the national agenda for the team as soon as they are clear in order to obtain adequate benefits from appropriate periods for the team’s matches, both in terms of qualifying qualifiers For the World Cup or the African Nations Cup.
And also agree on cross lines to give the team appropriate times in the gatherings of the team’s camps.
Al-Badri assured that he would meet with his assistant staff to discuss all matters and obstacles facing the team and how to best deal with them.
