The farmers’ protest movement relaunched.
A new action by farmers is planned for Thursday February 15, 2024, north of Toulouse. It is in Montauban (Tarn-et-Garonne) that the demonstrators will gather this afternoon, around 2 p.m., to once again express their anger at the government “who is not moving forward”, chants Damien Garrigues, president of FDSEA 82.

Actions at different points in Montauban
While the president of the FNSEA, Arnaud Rousseau, threatened the government with future actions before the Salon de l’Agriculture on February 24 in Paris, the farmers of Tarn-et-Garonne come into action. Despite recent meetings between the unions and the administration, “things are dragging on the demands”, breathes Damien Garrigues.
The demonstrators will therefore gather in front of the Chamber of Agriculture of Tarn-et-Garonne from 2 p.m., avenue Marcel Unal, this Thursday. “Depending on the number, we will then divide up to meet in front of the prefecture and in front of the supermarkets,” specifies the president of FDSEA 82 who hopes for a crowd despite a gathering organized “at the last moment”.
Spills are expected, as are actions in the grandes surfaces.

Anger doesn’t go away
“Since the lifting of the blockages, nothing has changed,” said a farmer from the Young Farmers of Tarn-et-Garonne, while the leader of the movement, Jérôme Bayle, a breeder in Haute-Garonne, had alerted the government about a possible resumption of shares.
FDSEA 82 is of the same opinion. “On irrigation, farmers’ income, there is nothing. The state does not keep its promises. We’re asking for real in-depth work, but instead, we continue to import what we don’t want to produce in France,” Damien Garrigues, president of FDSEA 82, remains unmoved.

“If there are no answers, we will do four buses of farmers from Tarn-et-Garonne to go to the Salon de l’Agriculture on February 24,” he threatens.
Any next actions?
The president of the FDSEA 82 calls for real “emergency measures, not answers in three months”.
A meeting is planned in front of the prefecture, this Thursday, February 15, at the end of the day, to determine the terms of potential future actions in Tarn-et-Garonne.
