Elections 2020. Roman Giertych: Confederation may cease to exist

When asked why he appeared at the election evening of Szymon Hołownia Giertych, he replied that “he was invited to the staff, because he was one of the few people speaking in public space who supported Hołownia in the election campaign, recognizing that the person with the best chances should be supported defeat Andrzej Duda “.

– I am not a member of the staff of Hołownia. I was just a guest there – he noted.

Giertych added that before the first round he supported Hołownia, and now he supports Rafał Trzaskowski, who entered the second round and will face Andrzej Duda in it.

According to the former deputy prime minister, the candidate who wins the votes of the Confederation will win the election. – I hope that those who voted for my former party colleague, Krzysztof Bosak, will vote for Rafał Trzaskowski in the second round – he said. In his opinion, all Confederate voters should vote in the second round against “building an authoritarian state”.

– In the most fundamental interest of the grouping, which is the Confederation, is to prevent the political system in Poland from closing. If Duda wins, PiS will have all the tools to eliminate the Confederation. I have no illusions that Kaczyński will introduce authoritarian rule. If the Confederation wants to exist, it is in its interest to prevent Andrzej Duda from being elected – said Giertych.

The former deputy prime minister also assessed that the electorates of PiS and the Confederation were significantly different. – The PiS electorate is authoritarian and social, to the Confederate electorate, who is libertarian, is not on his way.
