The multinational specializing in vehicle air conditioning systems Eberspaecher celebrates 50 years of presence in North America.
Eberspächer Climate Control Systems Canada Inc., located in Missauga, Ontario, is the oldest overseas subsidiary of the company originally from Esslingen, Germany.
“Half a century of fruitful activities is a unique and exceptional performance. Happy birthday to our Canadian team here in Mississauga,” said Eberspächer Group Managing Partner Martin Peters. “It also demonstrates that the long-term vision and commitment of a family business can pay off.”

The purpose of setting up this subsidiary in 1973 was to take advantage of the North American market, known for its strong winter seasons, in order to better market preheating of the engine off, the company’s flagship product.
It has grown with the US government’s new interest in environmental protection and the use of emission reduction technologies. “With our Airtronic D2 air heater, we were perfectly positioned for this,” says Oleg Riabtsev, president of Climate Control Systems North America.
Today, the North American subsidiary oversees all of the company’s operations in Canada, the United States and Mexico. It is made up of a multicultural team of nearly 100 employees who develop, produce and distribute thermal management solutions specially designed to meet the challenges of fleet operators in the American market.
Its main products are air conditioners for Class 8 trucks, but it also includes air and coolant heating solutions and spare parts for the RV, ATV, agriculture and the navy.
The Canadian subsidiary recently acquired a building where engineers and technicians can carry out cold room tests and install products in vehicles for testing purposes. “We invest a lot in our people and in technology. This includes customer service and future e-mobility applications,” concludes Martin Peters.
