Due to the coronavirus, the Geneva International Motor Show was canceled next year

The Geneva International Motor Show was canceled this year due to the coronavir pandemic, and the organizers announced on Monday that the show would not be held next year either, given the crisis in the automotive industry.

The organizers point out that after a survey of participants, it has been decided to cancel the car show scheduled for next year.

“Most of the participants have indicated that they are unlikely to participate in the 2021 exhibition and they would prefer to participate in the 2022 exhibition,” the organizers said in a statement.

The organizers explain that the automotive industry is currently facing a significant crisis, and companies need time to make the necessary investments for this exhibition.

It is also unclear at this time whether the health and safety situation in March 2021 will allow the event to be organized, which usually attracts more than 600,000 visitors and 10,000 journalists.

This year’s exhibition was canceled after the Swiss government banned large gatherings, but later imposed more stringent measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
