When a white couple wags a machine gun and a small handgun in front of their house and points the guns at black demonstrators, among other things, pretty much every USA cliché is served. This happened in the city of St. Louis, Missouri, last weekend.
Fortunately, the incident turned out lightly, no shots were fired. The video of the incident has been viewed almost 17 million times so far:
Background: On Sunday, a group of several hundred “Black Lives Matter” demonstrators moved to the mayor’s office in St. Louis to demand her resignation. Lyda Krewson, a democrat, had publicly read out on Facebook the names of people calling for the police to be defined in the city. The activists found this intimidating.
As the demonstrators made their way through the affluent Central West End and through a park-like complex, lawyer Mark McCloskey and his wife Patricia suddenly appeared in front of their house with weapons.
The authorities are now investigating
In one Interview with KSDK News McCloskey said the demonstrators came to his property after the gate was opened, so he got the gun. He was scared to death. He was threatened by the demonstrators, he had also heard the click of a pistol magazine and some demonstrators had worn bulletproof vests.
Suspected participants in the demonstration wrote on Twitter that the gate to the park in front of the property had already been opened. This can also be seen on a video that shows the scenes right before the confrontation. In fact, it is not clear whether the property in front of the house is public or private.

McCloskey claims that only his machine gun would have stopped the demonstrators from moving towards the house. On the other hand, the video shows that the activists want to appease the lawyer rather than make any move to approach the property. It is not known whether the McCloskeys’ weapons were loaded.
The authorities are currently examining whether the representation of the couple is correct.
A couple of lawyers explains their support for the “Black Lives Matter” movement
The story subsequently took a very bizarre turn: because the couple of lawyers addressed the public with a statement, which states that both supported the goals of the demonstrators and the “Black Lives Matter” movement. White demonstrators undermined the peaceful demonstrations.
A report by ABC broadcaster about the incident was retweeted by US President Donald Trump. Social media users also took the incident with humor. Numerous memes are now circulating.
