Directorate-General for Health confirms 342 new cases and eight fatalities – O Jornal Económico

The General Directorate of Health (DGS) confirmed, this Saturday, another 542 confirmed cases, but only 342 are attributable to the last 24 hours. Of these, 259 (76%) were registered in the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region. As for the number of fatalities, the agency reports that eight more fatalities were counted, bringing the number of deaths to 1,654 since the beginning of the pandemic.

DGS also informs that the number of recovered people has risen 305 since the previous day’s data, bringing to 30,350 the number of people who are no longer infected by the new coronavirus.

The number of hospitalized patients decreased. According to the bulletin, there are even 12 people in hospital institutions while the number of people infected in intensive care is over 68 after yesterday’s 66.

At the moment there are 13,912 active cases registered, the number is obtained by the difference between the number of confirmed cases and the number of recovered and killed.

In this Saturday’s statement, the DGS informs that all data from epidemiological bulletins, since June 30, have been updated, but adds that it will only start from July 14 that it will begin to check for updates in cases by municipality. .
