With two goals and an own goal, Frankfurt’s Martin Hinteregger made a memorable appearance in the 2-5 defeat of his Frankfurt against league leaders Bayern Munich.
The ÖFB team player initially brought Eintracht Frankfurt 2: 3 with two quick goals (52./55.) At the beginning of the second half.
In the 74th minute Hinteregger then met again – this time, however, quite unfortunate by slapstick insert into their own network to the 2: 5 final score from the perspective of the guests.
“That was fast. It sure looked a bit funny, I had to laugh a little myself. It was certainly one of my most beautiful own goals, ”said Hinteregger in Sky interview after the game.
Bayern start furiously
For the Munich team that started with David Alaba in the starting line-up, the game against Eintracht went according to plan. Leon Goretzka (17th) and Thomas Müller (41st) scored a 2-0 break lead. Immediately after the restart Robert Lewandowski increased to 3-0 (46th), for the 31-year-old Poland it was already the 27th goal of the season. The Hütter troop did not get hung up and the Hinteregger double strike brought new hope. The 27-year-old has now scored eight goals this season, and had also scored in the 5-1 success in the first duel with Bayern.
The league leader quickly recognized the seriousness of the situation and put a goal from Alphonso Davies (61.). The final point was then reserved for Hinteregger: the Carinthian shot the ball with one heel on the other heel during an attempt to clarify, and the ball rolled into his own net.
Hinteregger is a novelty
Hinteregger even made a novelty in the game: Eight goals to corners like the Austrian now – no Bundesliga professional has yet managed to do that.

Frankfurt Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer never really checked up to his gates. It didn’t seem to be a problem for a long time that the Munich team had to do without the midfield motor Thiago (adductor problems).
Frankfurt, who had to do without Captain David Abraham (back) and made a total of four changes, made too many mistakes in the switchover game. Eintracht never lost their courage, Kostic hit the post again in the offensive efforts of the guests (83.) – in the end, however, was the fifth league defeat in a row.
