Those who attended the establishment during that evening are asked to pass a screening test.

“Several people who were present inside and on the terrace of this establishment from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. were diagnosed with COVID-19,” said public health.

The Director of Public Health of Montérégie, the Dre Julie Loslier indicates in a video that it would however be wrong to think that this establishment is more at risk than others.

“It is not the case at all. We were notified at this establishment. We have public health work to do. But it could have happened in any other establishment, “explains Mme Loslier.

Public health works hand in hand with the owners of Mile Public House.

“We are in direct contact with the public health department. From what we know so far, [ce sont] five people from the same group, seated at the same table, who tested positive. We are also in contact with the people concerned, ”reacted the restaurant on its Facebook page Sunday afternoon.

The establishment also specifies that all its employees will be tested.

Furthermore the Dre Loslier claims that public health observes that social distancing is very difficult in bar-type establishments due to the consumption of alcohol, among others.

“It is both a job of employers and consumers to make the effort to respect distancing,” she says, citing the example of the United States where an outbreak of COVID-19 is raging among younger populations. . “We certainly don’t want to go back,” she warns.

Those concerned can obtain an appointment to be tested by calling 1-877-644-4545 or 450 644-4545.
