Corona: Saxony allows Bundesliga with audience – Dresden

Dresden – Saxony continues to loosen up! Despite the ongoing corona pandemic, folk festivals are allowed again in the Free State from July 18. And: From September, fans will again be allowed in the football leagues.

Minister of Health Petra Köpping (62, SPD) informed on Tuesday in Dresden that they plan to allow more than 1,000 visitors to major events from September 1. There is no upper limit, but potential contact tracking must be ensured.

Means: At the start of the new Bundesliga season, fans of RB Leipzig could go back to the stadium, “but only if you can reach an agreement with the DFB and all other participants,” added a spokeswoman for Köpping when asked by BILD.

However, according to Köpping, “not yet full stadiums, but more than 1,000 spectators” are possible. In mass sport, spectators are allowed again from July 18. The Minister: “But if possible, avoid calling, singing and screaming.”

Saxony continues to advance in terms of easing. According to the Robert Koch Institute, 5,459 people (as of July 7) had been infected with corona since the pandemic broke out. Around 5200 are cured. 224 patients have died.

However, new cases are still being registered. Köpping announced on Tuesday, among other things, new infections of a host couple and a family of four in Leipzig.
