It is the sign that football fans and clubs have been waiting for. On May 9, the Bundesliga could continue its season after almost two months off Corona. Prime Minister Markus Söder (Bavaria) and Armin Laschet (North Rhine-Westphalia) brought this date on Monday in the live broadcast of the picture in conversation, Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn apparently does not ignore the restart and speaks of one “Slice of normality, even if in an empty stadium”.

The clubs of the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga should breathe a sigh of relief. After all, if the season breaks off, TV and sponsorship money may be lost. Loud Kicker that would put 13 clubs in such a financial imbalance that bankruptcy is in danger. No wonder that the league absolutely wants to avert a season break like in other sports. However, there are a few questions to be answered.
Game schedule: Eight weekends will be available from May 9 until the end of June. There are still nine game days to be played. At least one round would have to be played during the week. Probably even two, the cup final should also take place on a weekend. There is also the catch-up game between Werder Bremen and Eintracht Frankfurt and the semi-finals in the cup. It is also unclear how things will continue in the European Cup. Five German clubs are still represented in Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig (both Champions League), Bayer Leverkusen, VfL Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt (all Europa League). The picture reports that the 33rd and 34th matchday should be played first, followed by the catch-up days. It would look like this.

Corona tests: The conversation is that the Bundesliga players are regularly tested for the corona virus. The DFL is apparently considering testing players, coaches and members of the functional teams every three days with a quick test on Corona in order to guarantee the safety of possible ghost games. By the end of the season, around 20,000 tests would probably be due. Schalke’s head of the supervisory board and meat manufacturer Clemens Tönnies has already offered to have corona tests carried out in his company laboratory.
