According to the statement, “At the General Assembly meeting of the Higher Education Council dated June 25, 2020, Marmara University, which is the guarantor university, regarding İstanbul Şehir University, stated that” it does not have the ability to meet the income gap, staff salaries are not paid, and the period of temporary suspension of the activity is extended to students, academic , the determination that administrative staff and public and private service providers will increase their victimization and will not be able to continue their education and training activities ”were evaluated together with the reports of the Higher Education Supervisory Board; according to paragraph 11/14 of the Law No. 2547:“ Determination of the guarantor university on this subject ”by the Higher Education Council Upon approval, it was submitted to the Presidency and the activity permit of the university in question was revoked by the Presidential decree.
It should be known that the education and training of our students is our priority. In this regard, we want our students to know that any precautionary measures will be taken without delay in order to continue their education and training in the most favorable conditions as it was yesterday.
It is announced to the public, especially our students and their families, that the maximum sensitivity will be shown so that our students do not experience any victimization. “
It was also stated that YÖK General Assembly will meet and decide within 1-2 days without any time to discuss the situation of students at İstanbul Şehir University.

According to the information given by YÖK, it was decided at the meeting of the General Assembly of Higher Education on 30.06.2020 that the students registered at İstanbul Şehir University whose activity permit was revoked were transferred to Marmara University, which is the guarantor university.
