A new month and a new record for savings for Belgians, according to the latest figures from the National Bank of Belgium (BNB). In May, € 289.46 billion was in regulated savings accounts. This is 4 billion euros more than a month ago.
Savings accounts continue to appeal to Belgians despite the low rates:
- 283.09 billion euros in January,
- 285.21 billion in April,
- 289.46 billion in May.
During the coronavirus crisis, the Belgians continued to earn their euros in their accounts.
