Michaël Youn was in the studios of Europe 1 this Monday afternoon to promote his film Divorce Club in the show The wild outfit. While Matthieu Noël asked the director if it was easy for him to find funding for film projects, Michaël Youn and Arnaud Ducret, the main actor of Divorce Club, also present in the studio, immediately replied in the negative. “It is complicated ; French cinema is changing. We work in a changing profession (…) so it’s not obvious. There is a bit of a funding crisis, so we need projects that are safe, projects that are not too expensive; it is complicated. But it’s complicated for everyone“, explained Michaël Youn.
“We all made efforts”
“To make this film, on a cinema scale, we all made efforts, we all had to make financial efforts“, confirmed Arnaud Ducret before Michaël Youn took over and gave a little more information on this subject.”Without disclosing the amounts, but it’s true that Arnaud was negotiated by his agent at a certain price, and, it never happens: the producer came back and said ‘can you make an effort because what can’t we do ‘ “, explained the latter, to the surprise of the columnists of the show.
A promotion that never ends
Promoted to the Alpe d’Huez festival on January 18, Divorce Club was due to hit theaters on March 25. Its distribution in cinemas was finally postponed until July 14, due to the confinement. As a result, the promotion seems endless and the two players are on all the sets. Recently on the set of C to you, the director had confided the reasons for his argument with the singer Yelle, but also some personal anecdotes. For his part, Arnaud Ducret had also touched the public of Alpe d’Huez with another film, Casually.
