Air France plans to cut more than 7,500 jobs

Air France plans to cut around 7,500 jobs due to the aviation crisis by the end of 2022. This affects 6,560 jobs at Air France itself, as the airline announced tonight. There would also be 1,020 jobs at the regional airline Air France Hop.

However, the cut will be cushioned by many age-related departures – at Air France “more than half of this job cuts will be compensated for thanks to a favorable age pyramid”. With hop, however, the surplus remains quite high.

According to the airline, Hop currently has 2,420 jobs, Air France 41,000. “For three months, Air France’s activities and revenues declined by 95 percent, and at the height of the crisis, the airline lost € 15 million a day,” said a statement related to the CoV crisis. For example, Air France predicts that the airline will not reach the same level of activity as in 2019 before 2024.
