The SP.A, the PS, the PVDA-PTB, Open VLD, the MR, Groen, Ecolo and DéFI support the relaxation. As they have a majority in the House, the text could therefore be approved. That almost happened last week, but then CD&V chairman Joachim Coens sounded the alarm. Together with Open VLD chairman Egbert Lachaert and MR chairman Georges-Louis Bouchez, he is looking at the options for a new government, but Coens would stop doing that if the law were voted.
