It is important to press and hold the buttons until the screen turns blue. Then you enter the Android Recovery menu.

In your Android Recovery, your touchscreen is turned off, you can navigate with your volume keys and choose options with the power button. Therefore, scroll through the menu until the selection bar is on “Wipe cache partition”. Press your power button to choose this. Once you have confirmed your choice, the cache memory is cleared. Lift to wake with the Galaxy S8

The name says it all. With this function, searching for your on / off button is a thing of the past. Once you have enabled this feature, all you have to do is remove your device from the table or out of your pocket.

How do you enable the function? Go to “Settings” and choose “Advanced functions” at the bottom. Then press “Motions and gestures” and then tick “Lift to activate”. Now your own Galaxy S8 should also put this handy feature into practice.

Bixby is Samsung’s smart assistant, but was met with many mixed responses. Because there is a specific button for Bixby under the volume keys, you often press it accidentally, even after longer use.

To prevent this, first open the Bixby Home app. Then press the settings gear at the top of the screen. Finally, choose not to have Bixby Home open when you press the Bixby button. This makes this minor irritation a thing of the past.
