That’s it, the Lakers have indeed arrived in the bubble in Orlando, and have resumed collective training in anticipation of the return to competition. The only concern for Frank Vogel, two of his pillars were not allowed to join their teammates in the room.
The Lakers were among the last teams to enter the Orlando bubble, but they are now well settled there. Despite some big setbacks for JR Smith on his arrival and a big pressure of the league, everything seems finally to roll for the Angelinos.
And like all the teams present, Los Angeles quickly found its way back to the field after the 48 hours of compulsory isolation. In the words of LeBron James following this first session, the Lakers are already very fit!
It is as if we had never stopped … We picked up where we left off. I feel like we’ve been together for years, when it’s only our first season. I am happy to be able to replay the sport I love.
The problem is that not all Lakers have had this chance to find the sport they love. Indeed, two executives of the team were banned from training, due to a small technical concern. Nothing too serious at the moment, but in the future this could become problematic.
Neither Danny Green nor Dwight Howard participated in the Lakers first practice in Orlando this evening due to testing glitches. Team hopes to have both of them available to practice tomorrow.
