As of May 27, 109 outbreaks of contamination had been identified in the country, according to Santé publique France, who sees an “increase”. These areas are called foci, or “cluster”, when at least three potential or confirmed cases were identified, during the same week and in the same community, or following a gathering. People do not necessarily know each other.
In its latest epidemiological bulletin, Public Health France reports 104 clusters in France and 5 in the overseas departments and regions. The regions of Brittany, Pays-de-la-Loire, Normandy count 14 outbreaks of contamination, has reported West France.
There are also 19 in Île-de-France, including 7 in the Yvelines, the most affected department. Hauts-de-France has 11, including 6 in the North, the second most affected department in France.
